A CAS(E) Birthday Card

I made a simple birthday card for my mom following along with this weeks CAS(E) sketch.

I wanted to make the butterfly look more dimensional, so I print-and-cut two sets of butterflies, attached them at the body, then added a pop dot to make one of the wings stick out more.

Another Christmas Card

This card follows along with the simplicity theme I've been enjoying lately.  The card was designed with Make-the-Cut and Lettering Delights Nordic Christmas svg files.  It was printed out then layered on top of the card with a red layer.  I added some Want2Scrap bling in the corners for some shine.

I'm entering this card in two challenges.  The Jingle Belles Scandinavian Challenge's criteria was to make a card using the color red. I also stuck to their Scandinavian inspiration.

Alway's Playing With Paper's Merry Monday challenge is to use birds in your Christmas card. 

Beer Soap

For Christmas, I made two batches of beer soap.  My brother has been home brewing for a while now and I thought it might be nice to make some soap with some extra beer he had.  There were two types I made. The one pictured below is one I consider more girly. It has some extra oils in it and the scent is stronger.

I made the label using Make-The-Cut and a Lettering Delights font and doodlebat.  Each woman I gave a Christmas present to got a bar of this soap.

I forgot to take a picture of what I called The Man Soap.  It had a lighter fragrance called Oatmeal Stout.  It was mostly made of olive oil, but also had some coconut and a little palm oil as well. I also fixed the label to include my brother's name instead of writing it on all of them.  All the men got a bar of this soap. The extra's went to my brother and his wife to use or hand out as gifts.

Wedding Card

One of my cousin's is getting married this weekend and I wasn't able to attend. My brother is going and I sent along this card for my cousin and his new wife.



I used a Lettering Delights file for the dark blue background and coated it in Tattered Angels glitter paint. That really doesn't show up. It's subtle but adds a nice glimmery touch. The greeting on the outside is from a rub-on set. It's raised off the card with dimensional sticker squares. I don't trust my Cricut to do print and cut with MTC, so I shall wait for my new cutter to do that sort of thing.



This is the inside. I'm almost certain I used a Lettering Delights font for the greeting.

Waterfall Cards

I made waterfall cards for a couple of birthdays that are coming up next weekend. The first is for a little boy's first birthday. The second for my sweet-loving mother-in-law. All the images were cut from Lettering Delights sets.

Cupcake Toppers + Freebie!

Today I made some cupcake toppers for Halloween. They're not quite finished because I discovered that I didn't have any toothpicks or skewers to attach them to. The inspiration for this project came from Getting Cricky's Simply Sunday Challenge in which we were to make a fall treat craft. I have plans later this month to make some cupcakes and thought this would be a nice touch.


The circle and star shapes came from MTC shape files and the font was one that came with my computer. You can download this file below. It's in MTC format. The bat is a Lettering Delights simple shape file and the ghost came from the web.



Halloween Cupcake Toppers

Jingle Belles Peace Challenge

The theme for this weeks Jingle Belles challenge is Peace on Earth. We are required to incorporate either a peace sign or the word Peace into our holiday card.

I stamped and embossed the background and the lettering. The bird is from a Lettering Delights SVG file.

Easter Flower Pot

I made this little candy-filled Easter pot for my fiance's parents. It was quick and cheap.



I used Lettering Delight's accordion fold rosettes, glued them to wooden skewers and stuck them in a foam ball that I cut in half. The paper is just plain cardstock. The pot was $1 from Target. After placing the flowers in the pot, I filled around the skewers with candy. Yum! If I had had more time, I probably would have painted the skewers and maybe added some paper leaves.

Waterfall Cards

Last weekend I discovered waterfall cards. These are some of the coolest cards I have seen. They are pretty easy to make, especially once you get the hang of it, so I made two. I did use the wrong glue for the backing paper so they're both kind of warped and need to be glued to something more sturdy to take the warp out. I use this tutorial from Split Coast Stampers to make the cards.

First, a Christmas card. I stamped and embossed each layer including the background.


Next, a fun cupcake card. I used Make-The-Cut with my Cricut and Lettering Delights doodlebat. The final layer says "You take the cake"


My apartment smells wonderful right now. I made a small batch of cold process soap and scented it with BrambleBerry's Energy fragrance blend. It's divine. Later, I plan on making a blueberry buckle so it will smell even more wonderful.

Valentines

I love Lettering Delights' Frogs and Kisses SVG set. I used it to make a few valentines this year.

For my boyfriend, I used a Ferro-Roche heart candy box I found at Walmart. He loves those candies. I used the top and bottom inserts as a template to trace the hearts then just glued on the frog and little heart that I cut using my Cricut. I also took out the plastic liner thing that holds the candies in place and stuffed it full of some other candies he really likes (I may have eaten a couple of the Ferro-Roches to make more room...shhh...).



For my mother and her husband I just made some simple cards. I tried to only use paper scraps from my massive box of scraps. Hurray for stash busters!

Inside...again, Mom on left, husband on right. I also used Lettering Delights' Delilah Tags for my mother's greeting, and an LD Oblong Frame for her husband.


I'll probably be posting some more cards later this week. We are going up to the boyfriends parents this weekend (yay horses!) and I want to make them some valentines too.

Still watching CHA

I've been crafting while watching all the great people at CHA. Here is what I've been working on.

It's a 4 page scrapbook made out of a paper bag. Back in October I went camping and mountain biking with the boyfriend and another couple. It was cold but a lot of fun.

Baby Onsies

I hope everyone had a great holiday! For Christmas, I made some onsies for some friends for their new baby. I used my Cricut and Make-The-Cut software to design and cut stencils out of freezer paper. Then I just pained it on with acrylic paint mixed with the medium that makes the paint washable. They have a great dane and the 'paddle faster' is an inside joke. I'm hoping to post at least 2 of the MTC files along with a giveaway soon. Be sure to follow me if you're not. It will be a requirement of the giveaway.

Free Pumpkin File and A Card

Long time no update. I've been busy with work and school. Most of my crafting time has been spent making Christmas gifts. I did manage to make this card for my boyfriend for our 13 month anniversary. He loves Halloween so I thought it was appropriate. I purchased the smaller Cricut Expressions a few months ago along with the Make-the-Cut software. I haven't done too much with it yet, so I'm pleased with how the card turned out.



I created the pumpkin file below, modified it with a font from dafont.com and grunged up the plain orange paper with a black ink pad. I wrote on the inside with a silver Sharpie.
